TESTIMONIALS

Jane

Dear Ashley Garden staff,

I am so happy that dad is with you. Up until now, I have felt sick at the thought of leaving him when I return to New Zealand ... And that was before I realised how appalling the last home actually was. The feeling I have about Ashley Gardens is so positive. I will fly home sad to leave him but so happy he is there. I KNOW he will be safe, secure and really well cared for.

Dear Ashley Garden staff,

I wanted to thank you for taking such a good care of my grandparents, Bill and Marjorie Shinkins. Your smiles, kind words and hard work made their time at Ashley Gardens very special. We know that they were in good hands, everyday and in every way. The work you do is so important and so precious to families like ours. For this, you all have a special place in our hearts.

Thank you.
All the best,
Ashley

Dear Becki,

Just a brief note to say thank you to you and all of your staff. Your care of mum was first class and I know she was beginning to settle in well with you. When I visited her myself on the Friday before she died she was much as she was when she had been with us. I know that she very particularly was drawn to Sam, do thank him for his gentleness and care for Mum; I know it meant a lot to her.

I also want to thank the staffs who were on duty the night mum died. The way they cared for me and my two brothers was quite wonderful, they really did go out of their way to ease the situation we were facing. Their offer of help and providing for us that night were beyond what I would ever have imagined.

If they and Sam are typical of your staff and the kind of care that is received then you have a top class home, and staff that you can be proud of.

I also want to thank you personally for all your help and encouragement to mum and your dealing with us as a family. Once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Yours Sincerely,
John

Dear Mr. Karmali,

Following the death of my mother, Mrs. Ivy Sutcliffe, last Saturday, I write to thank you and all your staff for excellent care that she has consistently received during the two years and nine months that she has spent at Ashley Gardens.

We would all wish to live out our lives in our own home and depart peacefully at a time of our own choosing and Ivy was no exception to that. Short of that ideal, I can think of nowhere where she could possibly have been happier or received better attention and genuine affection than she did in your care and I offer my profound thanks and deep respect to you all for doing a difficult job with such cheerful professionalism.

I will be most grateful if you can let me have a list of all care staff, cooks and cleaners, so that I might have the pleasure of sending an individual thank you to everyone, through your office.

With kind regards, I remain,
Yours sincerely,
Anthony

All the staff are very helpful and caring while looking after the residents.
The food is quite good and all rooms are clean and airy. The garden area is well laid out and will be in full use in the summer.

Linda

To,
Becki and Staff,

To say thank you for the care, kindness and consideration given to my mother Bessie Wilson whilst she was with you. She couldn’t have been better looked after in such a nice atmosphere. A special mention for Mark (although I don’t really want to single anyone out), mother seemed to have a special response to him due to his lovely way with her.

Kind regards to all,
Linda

Dear Becki and Zoe,

Thank you so much for a very enjoyable evening on Saturday. Pauline and I had a great time. Having organized such events in the past, I know how much hard work goes in. The evening was a huge success. Well done.

Also, Mum and I want to thank you for all the help and support you gave us, as well as Dad, during his stay at Ashley Gardens. It made a very emotional situation so much easier knowing he was in such good care.

It’s been a pleasure getting to know you both and Ashley gardens, and we hope we will be able to continue our support in the future. Thanks again for everything you’ve both done.

Kind regards,
Doris & Jaret

"The general environment of Ashley Gardens is most definitely good, it is always clean and tidy and so homely. I spend a lot of time in the main lounge where the activities happen, on my way to the lounge I often stop by the library area to choose a book."

"I do love my bedroom though, sometimes if I feel unwell the staff will help me to my room and pop in on me every 15 minutes to check I am ok. The staff here are wonderful, there is nothing they will not do for you.

Since living at Ashley Gardens I have learned skills I never knew I had, I am learning to paint and do flower arranging, Elaine (activities co-ordinator) is brilliant, she always thinks of different things for us to do!

My son and family are very happy that I am here and that I am so happy. It takes courage to leave your home but I settled within a matter of days. I have made some lovely friends here and I now call Ashley Gardens 'home sweet home'.”

"Thank you so much for all you do for dad. Ruth sends me a video pretty much every time she visits. They make me cry but it's lovely to see him".

My mum has been living at this care home for some time now, and we've been very happy with the care she receives. The staff are always friendly, kind, and genuinely caring - it's clear they treat residents with respect and compassion. The facilities are clean, well maintained, and provide a comfortable environment. The food is also very good, with a nice variety of meals. My dad visits my mum regularly and is always warmly welcomed by everyone, which means a lot to our family. We feel reassured knowing she's in such a supportive and caring place.

I just wanted to write and Thank you all for your care concern for Marjorie during the short time she spent in Ashley Gardens. As you may know she was very reluctant to go into a home but I am glad to say I think she enjoyed having the company and care of all the staff and her final months were as happy as it was possible to be in the circumstance.

Thank you once again,
Carol

Tracy M

To,

My Mum with Dementia was so unhappy and cried every day until she moved into Ashley Gardens. She is now like her old self again, laughing once more and loves to feel a part of the community they have at the home. I couldn't have asked for a better place for my Mum to live. The staff are all excellent

and go above and beyond for the people in their care and the family and friends of the people in their care.
If you are in any doubt before placing a loved one in care, visit Ashley Gardens and see for yourself what a lovely vibe there is on arrival.

All the staff have a very positive approach when dealing with the residents. They are very attentive of their needs and are very caring. The food served in the dining hall is of a high standard and the lounges are clean and well lit and aired. The movement and music sessions help to keep everyones spirits up which means everyone is happy.

My mother has been in Ashley Gardens since October 2024 and we couldn't ask for better care for her. All the management and staff are very caring to residents and make the families very welcome at all times involving them in regular events and activities. All the residents are able to take part in activities such as exercise, singing, quizzes and crafting morning and afternoon seven days a week. Families are updated on a regular basis about any health issues. When my mother was admitted to hospital earlier this year the Manager and other carers kept in touch with the hospital to get regular updates on her condition and welcomed her back when she was discharged. Since then the staff have helped her to improve her mobility and health. Residents receive regular health checks. They make sure that residents have healthy well balanced meals, fruit and fluid intake is monitored.
