April was a joyful and eventful month at Ashley Gardens, filled with Easter celebrations, creative activities, music, and many special moments shared between residents, families, and staff.

Arts & Crafts Full of Creativity

Residents continued enjoying fun and engaging arts & crafts sessions led by Alexa. From painting and colouring to creating seasonal decorations, everyone loved expressing their creativity and spending quality time together.

The activities encouraged smiles, conversation, and a wonderful sense of achievement among residents.

Birthday Celebrations

This month, we celebrated the birthdays of three of our lovely residents with personalised cakes and cheerful gatherings.

One touching moment came from Roy, who happily shared:

“I’ve never had my name written on a cake before, thank you so much.”

These heartfelt celebrations remind us how meaningful small thoughtful gestures can be.

Easter Fete Success

Our Easter Fete was one of the biggest highlights of April. Residents, families, and staff enjoyed delicious food, raffles, tombola games, music, and a lively atmosphere throughout the day.

One particularly memorable moment was Olivia’s surprised reaction as she kept kept winning tombola prizes, while Darren watched on with a playful “Lucky you!” expression.

Easter Bunny Visit

Residents were delighted by a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny (Sue), who delivered Easter eggs and plenty of smiles around the home. The visit brought laughter, excitement, and a lovely festive atmosphere to everyone.

International Jazz Day Celebration

International Jazz Day brought music and joy into Ashley Gardens thanks to a wonderful performance organised by Susanna.

Residents thoroughly enjoyed the lively atmosphere, and it was especially heartwarming to see Roy dancing with his daughter during the event and sharing such a happy moment.

Sandra described the afternoon perfectly by saying: “What a lovely afternoon it was.” and shared how much happiness the event brought to everyone

Day of Beautification

Jap and Sue organised a special Day of Beautification, where residents enjoyed pampering, make-up sessions, and glamorous treatments.

The day helped residents feel relaxed, confident, and extra special while enjoying a fun and uplifting experience together.

Care Show London Visit

Members of Ashley Gardens (Suni, Sami & Madel) team attended the Care Show London at ExCel London this month, where they explored new ideas, training opportunities, and innovations within the care sector. It was a very interesting and eye-opening experience.

The visit provided valuable inspiration and learning experiences that we hope to introduce within Ashley Gardens to continue enhancing resident care and wellbeing.

Knitting Activities

Our knitting group has been enjoying spending time together creating squares for a future blanket project. So far, we have completed two squares… and yes, we because I even managed to do two lines myself before needing help… haha! Every little bit counts, and it’s better to start now than later. Most importantly, everyone enjoyed the laughter, teamwork, and time together.
